The first few projects we did near decemember time which as the majority know means the celebration of christmas, so we were set the task on doing are own cards. As I am discovering paganism (and I have to tell you it's pretty good and is a very free thinking and is not just what people who steriotype it say) I decided to do Yule cards, which is usually about 3/4 days before christmas.

I had a look at different examples of cards and a big feature in
these were candes and this inspired me in my work. |
I exerimented with using candles and different lighting. It gives a soft effect and creates a certain mood as it is natural light.

I used candle light to highlight parts of this so that the shadows and highlights on my pendant would be more dramatic. the red effect was slightly tweaked in Photoshop so that it was more rich. I added the text later in a style I thought was fitting to the overall composition and colour scheme.

| This is probably my favorite of the photos I did for this assignment. The colours fit in with the yule tide theme with the red and green which was achieved by using different coloured fairy lights at certain angles while I was wearing the pendant. the background if you notice is my skin. This photo surprisingly didn't need Photoshop but the boarder was added later to see what it would look like. looks ok don't you think? S |
