Loose something?

(yes I know this is an interruption of what I've been blogging about so don't yell at me, but i had to post this)

Walking along my road today I found this... I'm guessing they lost it while running in the rain... but flip flops in November really?

Light rotation

 Notice the subtle differences in lighting. If trying to light a subject try it at different angles, as some lighting may not be attractive on some and look good on others! Imagine the light is a sun and rotate it round the subject. Take photos as you go ( as I have done here) and you will find the most attractive lighting angle for the model or object you are photographing.

Dwayne

The images unedited from the first shoot with Dwayne. Inevitably my assistant ended up in some of the shots as well so I'm just saying that so you dont get confused who the random bloke is in some of the images. I used a white backdrop, using the same lighting as in the light experimentation in the previous post, but using a snoot rather than a model light. for some reason this gave it a yellow tint, so maybe I should use a white or silver reflector in the next shoot so this counteracts with the yellow cast. The majority of the images has Dwayne holding the JOOP bottle, so getting the exposure right on him and the bottle was a bit of a challenge but I think the majority of shots came out okay. I will edit these and then do another shoot, trying to make some improvements.

Background light

            

This shoot was done using two flash lights with soft boxes placed on to them and pointed towards the background so that it was lit, also a model light shone on my model. I kept the two lights at the back, the same brightness settling but changed the lighting on the model, which gave the effect of the background becoming darker on each shot. Towards the end when the shoot when the lights were very bright, the model covered his eyes and this produced very interesting effects on his face.

       

Testing with light

Bleaching the skin of the model using a model light can give all sorts of interesting effects to a model, especially if your model has an angler face or distinctive features. This model works well because of her pale complexion and contrasts with her dark hair and clothing. Different positions change the angle of the light and give subtle differences in shadow tones, which can make or break an image. The detail of the skin and aspects of the hair and clothing are lost but this could be good depending on the effect you want to produce.

Framed images will be from £2.00 to £5.00 more than the prices stated so please take that into consideration.

As required by the education board of the level of photography I am studying, I am unfortunately required to do perfume adverts for one of my units. I don't particularly like the concept of perfume adverts because of the fake beauty which is portrayed and how unrealistic it is. I decided to do a male perfume as not many in my class chose to do this so I decided to add a variety to my portfolio. I dont particularly like the advert here but I am just posting it to show a contrast of what my work will look like.
