Album cover - Tool

Album covers

Here is the first album cover I did, I did a shoot involving a oxs heart and a pigs head cut in head which I got from the butchers. I brought it into college (it caused a bit of a stir to say the least...) and photographed it in the studio, experimenting with lighting and the positions of the organs. Unfortuantly the pigs head shots didnt come out well but here is an example for you.

Needless to say I gained a reputation, The pigs head was given
the pet name of Graham, may he rest in peace in the rubbish.

I photographed the pigs jaw as it was cut in half so this is the veiw from the inside. I like the way the light reflects off the tissue and the compostion of the shot, as it is shot rather close in and is a little abstract. I also added a spiral and numbers which represents fibbonachi, which is a pattern of numbers which continues on and on. It is called Fibbonachi because of the man who dicovered it and it is directly related to calutating the theory of the golden mean (you'll have to look this up yourself as it is a little complicated to explain) This is also related to the band I focused on, Tool.
